ABOUT THE RUNAWAY KNITTER
Dana Marie Fehrenbach grew up on a Wisconsin Dairy Farm outside of Sauk City, WIsconsin. Daughter of Daniel Ballweg (deceased) and Darlene Treinen, along with 2 older brothers, Dennis and Dale (both deceased) and a younger sister Deanna.
I grew up in a very humble family where we worked hard and helped out others in need. My Grandmothers and Mother were amazing artists and crafters and taught me much, staring at a very young age, about the art of quilting, mending, dress making, crochet, knitting, crewel embroidery and needlepoint. I have carried these jewels with me throughout my entire life. I was offered the chance to share my talent with my community In 2013 through a consignment store. This grew into a mini knit shop, along with selling knit items hand made by me and teaching adults and children how to knit. This grew into my own knit shop that opened in October of 2015.
Thus, DMarie Knit and Fiber, LLC became a staple of downtown Prairie du Sac. We grew so fast that within 8 months, it was necessary to move to a larger space.. It has been the journey of a lifetime where we built an amazing community within a community.
As I write my blog, I will share with you many joys of owning this knit shop and accomplishments along with some of my life hardships that helped form the person I am today.
I love my life and want to share the joy of it with you.. knitting and needlepoint is a spiritual thing for me. It brings me calm and yet inspires me beyond reason! I’m sure you get what I mean when I say this! Hop on and enjoy the ride! I’m sure it will be somewhat educational but also enjoyable!
